Die norwegische Whisky-Site onlymalts berichtet über eine Reihe von neuen Whiskies, die Diageo in diesem Jahr herausbringen will: insgesamt neun „LIMITED-EDITION SUPER PREMIUM MALT WHISKIES“ mit einem Gesamtalter von nahezu 200 Jahren. Allein sechs der neun Single Malts sind 20 Jahre alt oder älter.
Der teuerste wird der Lagavulin 30 years old sein, der auf 2.340 Flaschen limitiert ist und 210,- Pfund pro Flasche kostet.

NEW RELEASE OF LIMITED-EDITION SUPER PREMIUM MALT WHISKIES TO FUEL A GROWING SECTOR
Fuelling the market’s ever-growing appetite for special single malt Scotch whiskies, Diageo have released a new batch of limited-edition malts with a collective age of nearly 200 years.
The release includes six malts that were distilled 20 years ago or even earlier.
All nine super-premium malts are at natural cask-strength, and are aimed at sophisticated whisky drinkers in Europe and North America.
Three of the whiskies – Brora™, Lagavulin™ and Talisker™ – are 30 years old, making them ideal gifts for collectors or enthusiasts born in 1976.
The most expensive whisky is the 30 year old Lagavulin, with a UK RSP of £210: only 2,340 bottles will be available.
The most limited bottling is the Brora, also at 30 years old, with only 2,130 bottles selling at £175. The distillery closed in 1983, so stocks of this cult Coastal Highland malt are becoming ever more precious. The 27 year old Port Ellen™ from Islay is equally rare: it shut down the same year, and is priced now at £125.
Four of the limited-edition malts are siblings, offering intriguing contrasts with more familiar members of the same family. Talisker, for instance, is globally celebrated in its award-winning 10 and 18 year old versions, but the new batch deploys both 25 and 30 year old limited-edition expressions, inviting the connoisseur to engage in a ‘vertical’ tasting of this famous Isle of Skye malt…
